A little care goes a long way with a natural wax candle. Follow these simple steps and you'll get the best from your fragrance, burn after burn.

Your candle's very first light matters most. Let the wax melt and pool right out to the edges of the glass before you extinguish it, this creates what's known as a "wax memory," and helps prevent the candle tunnelling down the middle on future burns. It's worth the wait, we promise!

You might notice a small amount of smoke when you first light the wick. That's completely normal, it just needs a moment to draw the wax up properly. Give it a minute or two to settle into a steady flame.

Trim your wick to around ¼ inch (6mm) before every single burn. This little habit keeps your flame steady, prevents soot, and helps your candle burn evenly right to the very last inch.

If your candle came with one of our lids (a lovely optional add-on), simply pop it on to extinguish the flame rather than blowing it out, this helps minimise smoke and lets the true scent of your candle settle beautifully back into the room. If you don't have a lid, a candle snuffer works just as well. No lid or snuffer to hand? A gentle blow works fine too, just take care to blow softly and steadily to keep any hot wax from splashing.

Give your candle a little time to fully solidify before lighting it again. This helps protect the wax, the wick, and the overall life of your candle.
